Naming Day Ceremony

On the 9th March we held a Naming Ceremony for Luke at Portobello Buddhist Priory. Reverend Favian officiated at this short ceremony which celebrated the birth of Luke into the world and recognised his intrinsic awakened Buddha Nature (nothing unique...we all have it!). So here are a couple of group photo's of Enita and I with my Dad and Lin (Luke's auntie) and Rev. Favian and, of course, Luke.

And Another picture...

I like this one...

More Pictures...

As noted before baby blogs are essentially about pictures. This is partly due to the fact that there is absolutely no time at all for writing about these early days!!

(PS Any visitors to this blog please do feel free to leave a comment, even just to say you visited...its nice to know someone does.)

Mother and Child

Being a new father is hardwork...but being a mother is much much harder. This is Luke's favourite resting position...asleep on mother's bosom.

"I'm really not at all sure about going out...!?!"

Left holding the Baby

And what a great way to be left...this sling style carrier is great...like a cloth womb!

His Name is LUKE

Or to be more exact Luke Shala Westmoreland. Shala is from his Albanian heritage; it is a nice name and although it is Enita's family name we think it works well as a middle name. Baby blogs are about pictues as much as anything else so here are a couple more...

Finally Arrived!

His arrival had been anticipated for sometime but when he arrived it was...well it was simply amazing. All that pain and pushing reached a climax...stopped, there was a cry and this amazing bundle of arms, feet, head and blood landed on Enita's chest. Wow. No words but here's a picture...pure contentment.
